Shipping Policy

The Short Version

  • Free insured shipping on gold & silver orders above ₹10,000. Free shipping on accessories above ₹5,000.
  • Gold & silver ship via BVC Logistics (insured, secured). Accessories ship via Delhivery.
  • Mixed orders (precious metals + accessories) may ship in 2 separate packages with separate tracking.
  • Signature required for precious metals. Minimum order value ₹499.
  • Delivery: BVC Logistics 3–5 business days, Delhivery 2–3 business days (metros). Plain outer packaging for security.

1. Shipping Partners

Vittarq uses two dedicated courier partners, each specialised for their product type:

  • BVC Logistics (Gold & Silver). India's #1 precious metals courier, handling 60% of India's diamond exports. Every gold and silver shipment is fully insured, uses tamper-evident packaging, and requires signature on delivery. Estimated delivery: 3–5 business days.
  • Delhivery (Accessories). India's leading logistics provider for standard deliveries. Handles all non-precious items such as velvet pouches, gift boxes, and accessories. Estimated delivery: 2–3 business days (metros), 3–5 business days (other locations).

The courier is assigned automatically based on what you order. You do not need to choose a shipping method. Orders containing both precious metals and accessories are automatically split into two packages (see Split Shipments section below).

2. Delivery Timelines

These timelines are estimates and may vary due to courier logistics, weather conditions, public holidays, or remote location accessibility. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next business day.

Order processing (including weight verification and packaging) typically takes 1–2 business days before dispatch.

All precious metal shipments include full insurance coverage. Shipping charges are calculated and displayed at checkout before you confirm your order. There are no hidden fees. A single shipping fee applies per order (not per package).

Minimum order value is ₹499. Orders below ₹499 cannot be placed. Express shipping is not available — all orders use standard delivery.

4. Split Shipments

Orders containing both precious metals (gold or silver coins) and accessories (pouches, gift boxes, etc.) are shipped in 2 separate packages:

  • Package 1: Precious Metals — shipped via BVC Logistics (insured, signature required)
  • Package 2: Accessories — shipped via Delhivery (standard delivery)

Both packages may arrive on different dates. You will receive separate tracking numbers and shipping notifications for each package. A single shipping fee applies to the entire order — you are never charged two separate shipping fees.

5. Packaging

Every Vittarq shipment uses multi-layered, tamper-evident packaging designed to protect your precious metals and provide clear evidence if tampering is attempted:

  1. Refiner holographic seal: Each coin or bar comes sealed in its original refiner packaging with a holographic authenticity seal that cannot be replicated or resealed once broken
  2. Heat-sealed security bag: The sealed product is placed inside a tamper-evident, heat-sealed security bag that shows visible signs of opening if tampered with
  3. Padded box: The security bag is placed in a cushioned, padded box to prevent physical damage during transit
  4. Plain outer packaging: The shipping box has no branding or indication of contents for security. There is no mention of gold, silver, Vittarq, or precious metals on the outer packaging to minimise the risk of targeted theft during transit

Upon delivery, please inspect the outer packaging before signing. If the outer box shows signs of tampering, damage, or opening, please refuse delivery and contact us immediately.

Legal Metrology Act compliance: In accordance with the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, every Vittarq product package includes the following mandatory declarations: product name and description, net weight (in grams), purity/fineness (e.g., 999 for 24K gold, 999 for pure silver), month and year of packaging, MRP (Maximum Retail Price) inclusive of all taxes, manufacturer/packer name and address, and customer care details.

6. Insurance

All gold and silver shipments via BVC Logistics are fully insured at their purchase value. This insurance covers:

  • Loss of package during transit
  • Damage during handling and transportation
  • Theft during the delivery process

Insurance is included at no additional cost. It is built into our shipping and operational costs. In the unlikely event of a loss or damage claim, Vittarq will manage the entire claims process on your behalf and issue a full refund or replacement at your choice.

Insurance coverage begins when the package is handed to the courier and ends upon successful delivery with your signature.

GST invoice: A GST-compliant tax invoice is included with every shipment and is also emailed to you upon dispatch. The invoice includes your order details, HSN code, applicable CGST/SGST or IGST breakdown, and Vittarq's GSTIN (27ANMPG4291N1ZE). For inter-state shipments exceeding ₹50,000, an E-way Bill is auto-generated as required under GST regulations.

7. Signature Required

All Vittarq deliveries require the recipient's signature upon delivery. This is a non-negotiable requirement for precious metal shipments via BVC Logistics. Delhivery accessory deliveries follow standard signature-on-delivery protocol.

  • The package must be delivered directly to the recipient or an authorised person at the delivery address
  • No neighbour drops: The courier will not leave the package with a neighbour or at a nearby location
  • No doorstep drops: The courier will not leave the package unattended at your door
  • No safe place delivery: The package cannot be left at a designated "safe place" without a signature

If no one is available to receive the package, the courier will make additional delivery attempts (see Failed Delivery section below). Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address during the expected delivery window.

8. Tracking

Once your order is dispatched, you can track it in real time through multiple channels:

  • Order page: Log in to your Vittarq account and view real-time tracking status on your order details page
  • WhatsApp updates: If you have opted in to WhatsApp notifications, you will receive automated updates at each milestone. Order confirmed, dispatched, in transit, out for delivery, and delivered
  • Email notifications: Dispatch confirmation and delivery confirmation are sent to your registered email address

A tracking number is provided with the dispatch confirmation. You can also use this tracking number on the courier partner's website for additional tracking details. For split shipments, you will receive separate tracking numbers for each package (BVC Logistics and Delhivery).

9. E-way Bill

In compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations, an E-way Bill is automatically generated for inter-state shipments (shipments crossing state borders) with a value exceeding ₹50,000.

The E-way Bill is generated through the National Informatics Centre (NIC) API and accompanies the shipment throughout transit. This is a legal requirement under the CGST/SGST Act and ensures smooth movement of goods across state checkpoints.

You do not need to take any action regarding the E-way Bill. It is generated and managed automatically as part of our dispatch process. A copy of the E-way Bill number is included in your dispatch confirmation email for your records.

10. Weight Verification

Before any order is dispatched, we perform a mandatory weight verification process:

  • Every coin or bar is weighed on a calibrated, certified scale to ensure the weight matches the product specification
  • Photo proof of the scale reading is recorded and stored with the order record for documentation and dispute resolution
  • Weight must be within a tolerance of 0.05 grams of the stated product weight
  • Any product that falls outside the tolerance range is replaced before dispatch

This verification ensures that the product you receive matches exactly what you ordered. The weight verification record can be provided to you upon request for your own documentation.

11. Failed Delivery

If the courier is unable to deliver the package (no one available, incorrect address, refused delivery), the following process applies:

  1. The courier will make up to 3 delivery attempts on separate days
  2. After each failed attempt, you will be notified via email and WhatsApp (if opted in) to arrange for someone to be available
  3. If all 3 attempts fail, the package is designated as RTO (Return to Origin) and shipped back to our warehouse
  4. Upon receipt at our warehouse, the product is inspected and a full refund is initiated to your original payment method

If you would like the order re-shipped after an RTO, you are welcome to place a new order at the then-current price. We recommend verifying your delivery address and ensuring someone will be available to receive the package.

12. Restricted Areas

While we strive to deliver across India, some remote PIN codes may have limited courier coverage. Areas where delivery may be restricted or delayed include:

  • Remote areas in the Northeast (certain districts in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland)
  • Island territories (Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep)
  • Areas with active security restrictions
  • PIN codes not serviceable by our courier partners

If your area is not serviceable by our courier partners, we will contact you after order placement to arrange an alternative or process a refund. We are continuously working with our courier partners to expand delivery coverage across India.
